President on CPC’s diesel loss: Correct numbers, incomplete diagnosis
"
I saw that the Petroleum Corporation has stated that the price of a litre of diesel is approximately 720 rupees. However, we are providing a litre of diesel for 392 rupees. In providing it at 392 rupees, the government bears a cost burden of 100 rupees for every litre of diesel. This means the Petroleum Corporation receives 492 rupees. Nevertheless, they still face a massive loss, and it is necessary for them to cover that loss.
